Regina Spektor

Jag har kramat henne och pratat med henne och sett henne uppträda. Jag har haft en av dom bästa dagarna i mitt liv!!

det här skrev jag på forumet, ska orka översätta det någon gång:

Today was the Day, with a big D. Regina Spektor finally in Sweden again! The day began wonderful, with the first real snow of the season, I was all wet when I came home from school. I changed my clothes and then it was of to Stockholm with my friend Caroline! On the train we talked about seeing her after the show, and what we would say.

When we came to the theater, wich was beautiful, never been there before, the show had been delayed for one hour. So we sat down in the bar, and grabbed a beer. More and more people showed up, really cute people, you could see that they were Regina fans! I saw a person from my hometown, but unfortunately we didn't say hello to each other, typical Swedish manners.

Finally they opened the doors to the the beautiful theater and everyone went inside. On the stage stood a pianokeyboard, an electric guitarr, and a little stool. (poore little rich boy!) When she came out I couldn't really believe my eyes, you know when you see someone you've only seen on pictures and small mediaclips, plus that you admire that person alot! The first song she sang only with a microphone and with her fingers drumming on it. Lovely. My friend and I just smiled! I noticed how quiet the audience was after they'd applaused her. So when she said "this next song is called Ode to Divorce" I shouted WOO! and she smiled and laughed a little. She's so cute! She played poor little rich boy (how can she handle all those things in the same time??) the flowers, ode to divorce, samson, prisoners, mary ann, and US. Can't remember anymore. Us got big respons from the audience, and was one of the highlights. After the song she said "Thank you", and i replied "no, thank you!" and she said "No thank you!" but then I stopped and she said "comeone, continue!" and we said some more thank you:s to each other, until she said "no, I'm, sorry.." Well, you don't have to be sorry for anything Regina, you are so.. Wonderful!!

Before the "last" song she said "I'm gonna sing a last goodnight song for you", and she played it and walked of the stage. Almost everyone in the audience stood up and applaused her, and after just 20 seconds or so,(not 4 minutes like other artists) she came out again smiling and blushing, played two more songs, and then walked of the stage again. But not for the last time this time either! She came back again after just a few seconds, said that it was the real last song this time, and played a beautiful song called fiddelity I think.

And then there were light! And the people started to walk out of the theater, and to the wardrobe. Me and Caroline had decided to take the late bus instead of the train, to wait for Regina in the Lobby! A man who was working on Warner Music turned up, and in some way he and Caroline hade met before, we told him why we were sitting there, and he gave us the number to a girl who was sitting with Regina upstairs. We called her, and she said that Regina was sitting in a interview, and that she didn't know how long it would take. We waited and waited and finally Caroline says "There she is!" I turned around and there she was, on her way out to the cab! I was a little stunned, but Caroline managed to get her over to us. We said that we were from a little magazine (a fanzine I believe it's called) and that we'd be very happy if she could write a message to the readers. Regina said that she was in a hurry for the cab, but that she could write a short note. It took a while, and was all that we had asked for, and more, and then we asked if we could get a hug, and of course we got one! I pointed out that I was the "no, thank you!" - guy and she laughed. We followed her out, and she waved from the cab windows, and threw kisses at us. She must be the worlds cutest girl.

When the cab had rolled away things started to come up for us; we'd actually met Regina, and she wrote a note for us! The note was very cute, I don't remember every word now, but I can write it later. It started with Hi Hi Hi! and there were something about snow, and bears and planes :) Too bad that I forgot to take a picture of her, my camera was all messed up anyway.

As a summary: It was a wonderful show, she's got an amazing voice and talent, and she mixes serious lyrics with funny lyrics that makes the audience laugh, like Someone next door is fucking to one of my songs (or something like it) wich she sang with proudness in her voice and everyone started to laugh. Her voice is her weapon, she can do crazy things with it combined with the Piano, like when she said that "you've got to do your own beat" and did some crazy song. Like John Lennon said before Beatles got a drummer; "The Rythm is in the guitarrs" Regina can say "The rythm is in my voice" but mean it. Oh yeah, and she also played some guitarr songs, but said that she sucked on it, but still had to do it every show! She's an amazing girl, and she made this day one of the best in my life, I will never forget it!

Thank you Regina, Hope to see you in Sweden soon

Jens
